LROC Mesabi Mountain Trail Fall Run

The notorious Mesabi Mountain Trail (MMT) is well known as one of the most difficult trails in Minnesota.

On September 23rd there will be an LROC MN4WDA member-exclusive trail ride on the Mesabi Mountain Trail.

There is a 10-rig cut-off due to the time required to complete the trail in a day.

If you’ve never been on the MMT please take time to read the DNR review of trail located here. This trail is rated Black Diamond, Most Difficult.

Minimum Experience Requirements: This is not a beginner-friendly trail. You should be an experienced off-highway driver having run other most difficult trails at the Iron Range Off-Highway Recreation Area. Having the ability to pick lines and are comfortable in difficult situations will be very helpful. Spotting will be available, but ultimately you are responsible for your rig.

Minimum Requirements: The MN DNR recommends a winch, 35’s, and lockers. Many rigs have completed this without those mods. You may not have 35s, but having 33s, a lift, and rock sliders may be sufficient. If you have any questions about the capability of your rig please email LadiesRockOffRoadClub@gmail.com.

Schedule

Friday Night: Pick up any apparel purchases. You can also pick them up Saturday morning.

Saturday Morning: Driver meeting will be at the trailhead at 8:30 AM to air down. Trail departure will be at 9 AM.

Saturday Night: Steak, Chicken, and Veggie Fajitas will be provided for dinner along with a campfire. Feel free to bring any additional sides or snacks.

More details will be sent out the week before the event.

All passengers must fill out the online Passenger Registration form. Parents must complete the form for any child passengers.

Please note there are no refunds. There is limited space, so please do not take a spot if you can’t attend.
